“There was something about that tiny bohemian attic that fascinated me. The wood accents on the walls had something to do with it, but there was still something special about that place that I couldn’t put my finger on. I knew right away that I wanted to do a shoot there using only natural light”, tells us photographer Adolfo Valente about his new set starring Martina.

Just as we’ve come to expect from Adolfo, these beautiful images capture Martina’s sensuality and youthful wonder without ever compromising her inherent female strengths.

“I felt that I needed someone who could act just a little crazy, someone who could pass from euphoria to melancholy in a split second, the way so many young people do. When I saw Martina, my attention was immediately drawn to her tousled hair, and I knew that she would turn out to be perfect for this role”.

Polish photographer and model scout Kamila Błaszkiewicz boasts a big repertoire of photographic projects she has realized so far, from fashion shootings to lifestyle photography, weddings, or portraits. Her love for this craft endorses in the variety. In her latest series Strange Summer she combines this love as well as her fascination for American cinema, specifically the ones where James Dean was playing the main parts and also the modern series, that deal with a fight against evil. “Rebellious and at the same time frightened young people are trying to find an explanation of the mysterious and strange events that are happening around them,” she explains her reference for this shooting with model Ariadna Syska who is with ModelRoom, Dawid Gorgola, Dominik Pakuła. “Nature diminished drastically in İstanbul in recent decades. There are only a few elves left in the city. This story is about an elf re-connecting with its own nature. We had to climb over the mountains to reach that location. At some point we were walking through a spiral mountain route with heavy equipment and a path that was as narrow as 15 cm. Yet we felt a lot safer than walking the streets of İstanbul.”

When Turkish photographer Ahmet Semih Orhan tells us this story he smiles. His pictures are varied and mostly tell stories. Stories as diverse as the people he portrays.

“I have for the longest time wanted to make a series about 1970s Californian girls, as a response towards the photo albums of music festivals and Laurel Canyon artists. The chic and casual photos of the Rolling Stones in their house, Jimi Hendrix playing pool, Peggy Lipton in Laurel Canyon and Marianne Faithfull in “The Girl on a Motorcycle”…these retro images inspired me to pick up my camera and take my first batch of photos, and they were so different from the mainstream photographs that I’ve seen.” tells us New York based photographer Xinxin Zhang about her newest C-Heads Exclusive series starring wild child Sevahna de Leon of Rebels Mgmt. “I never liked the glossy fashion images, nor celebrity headshots, nor tourist or family albums; I didn’t know that photography could carry so much free spirit and effortless elegance. Having moved from Hong Kong to New York for college, I have learned to combine photography and cinematography together with classical paintings. I want to make a photographic conversation about femininity and freedom, as well as urban and natural, and historic landscapes. In this series, I was lucky to have worked with the amazing Sevahna in a beautiful Californian home, in which we re-imagined the freedom of womanhood and sexuality in all-white styling palettes. We want to pay our tribute to the past age of classic rock and roll, but deep within us female artists, we are so thankful for everything that has happened around us in this time and age. We are now safe and independent to speak our truths and recreate our versions of the past legends.”

“It all began with a simple day at the beach. As a photographer, I always carry my camera with me and so I started taking pictures of Ariella.” tells us Uriel Eshet. What had started just for fun immersed into a wonderful and intense story of pure moments. “We were swept away to a secluded beach in a secluded area of Israel, away from all the noise and rush of Tel Aviv, the city where we live in.  And we both felt a very special connection through the lens.

I always told her that I wish she could see herself through my eyes… and I hope these photos reflect just that.”

German photographer Jörg Billwitz – who also participated in our Magical Places issue – always manages to capture a small eternity of a moment in his pictures. His new series with Ukrainian model Yana captured in an apartment in Kiev near Maidan – along with a wonderful text by her – invites you to leave the daily routine behind and immerse into a world of beautiful photos, personal thoughts and unspoken questions.

Following text written by Yana:

20 days of my life in this apartment are coming to an end. I am 24 now. And I think to myself: “What is waiting for me next?” “Which countries I will discover?” “What does the future hold for me??!”

I remember when I was 17 years old, the city where I was born suddenly became too small for me and unbearably closed. At this time, I also didn’t know what was waiting for me, but I didn’t think so deeply. When you’re very young, you feel more than you think. At that point, I knew I had to move. So I decided to move to Kyiv and started studying fashion design.

At that time, I began to understand more about what I wanted. And then I already knew that Kyiv would become only a starting point for something more than that, it was only my first contact with the world.

Those 7 years in Kyiv have changed me. From a wild child from a small Ukrainian town with a lot of complexes and some strange boundaries in my head, there was no traces of that anymore left. During this period of my life, I had a photo session with a young woman. It opened up a lot of things in me.

I began to understand, that I am beautiful and my body is a gift from God and I am his creation. My supposed shortcomings became virtues. This photo session expanded my boundaries in my head. I wanted to open all the doors to the world and cross all the bridges, I had an unbearable thirst for adventure.

I began to feel and listen to my life and myself…

“I always want to know the truth, touch the depths of seeing and feeling the truth.”

My first nude shoot was presented to me by the universe. She was a photographer, and she was just starting to take pictures, but she felt the camera and model pretty well. I remember I always had a complex about my hands, why my fingers were so long, but now it’s a laughing matter. But before that, it was really a problem. And it was this girl photographer Julia who was able to show and prove that my fingers are beautiful.

And then something turned over in my head about my appearance. All my complexes have turned into something special that I’m very proud and fond of.

The same day, I felt for the first time that I felt very free in front of the camera if I am nude and I liked it. After that, life continued to bring me new opportunities and I almost always took all of them.

“When you’re very young, you feel more than you think.”

But sometimes I felt afraid and insecure about what I was doing and I thought it was wrong and wouldn’t work. And I should do something more normal, more down-to-earth. But life loves me very much and it kept telling me it was your way and it was the right one. It’s so unusual, but it’s yours.

In the end, I decided to try to go to Germany for the first time. For one month! That was a big adventure for me! But all worked out very well and I had a lot of requests for photo shoots. I felt very free on this trip. I was very happy and enjoying the moment, knowing that now I feel like I’m in the right place at the right time. It’s a very strong feeling that you can’t forget.

So now a new facet of my life has opened up and I feel very good about that too. Now I travel a lot around the world, meet new people, try to find my way to their hearts, touch on important topics, I try to influence them and bring a little sincerity to people’s hearts.

I listen to such different and unusual stories of such ordinary people. I always want to know the truth, touch the depths of seeing and feeling the truth.

Every time I thank the universe for what happened to me and continues to happen. I am very open to everything, I have very few fears and if I have them I do not obey them. I live my life on my own terms. I live my life.

Time to get ready, time to go.

“I met Patricia a few months ago, when she asked me to take pictures for the very first time. She had never taken photos before, but I fell in love with her beauty instantly. I proposed to take photos especially for C-Heads, as we both love the magazine. She is very calm, and there is something really special about the way she looks. It has that strength that is only born of serenity.” explains photographer Alba Garcia. “For this series, we were inspired by the 90s. We used clothes, bags and accessories from her mother and grandmother. I wanted to portray her in a delicate way but very free at the same time. We took the pictures in my house in the morning, when everything was full of natural light. I took out my camera and just let ourselves go with the flow. NYC summer heat, 100 degrees, the air is stuffy. The more stairs you take down to the metro the more you wonder why the sweat drenched people who are coming up from this hell hole are not collectively fainting. As soon as the sun is about to set the asphalt is still vibrating. Not a single bird around. The only sound is the constant buzzing of AC machines on the windows. Nights are getting short and become dizzy and booze drenched. Sweat on your skin dries and waters down a million times a day.

Here we are, high above all of that in a castle in the sky with shiny glass windows. The trippy elevator taking us up into this dimension so seemingly far away. There, in this other world we get to be who we want to be while the day is fading away outside.

“This shooting theme was inspired by Bea Johnson, the mother of the zero waste lifestyle movement. After digging into the issue I found the nearest Package Free Shop in my area called Bez Obalu in Czech.” explains photographer Balint Nemes to us. The principles of a minimal waste lifestyle are really simple. It´s about  waste prevention, separate collection and reduction of residual waste. After talking with the owner Tereza about his idea he teamed up with gorgeous model Scarlett and make-up artist Zuzana Mosazna. “Let´s spread the word around, so people get to know more about how to reduce all the trash to a minimum!”
