“Meeting with Chelsea is like entering another dimension.” photographer Ojo de Paz lets know about his shooting experience with pretty model Chelsea Debo. “Her way of modeling is so simple and easy. You are basically witnessing a day in her life. No directions, no instructions. The cold weather outside was the perfect ingredient for an early afternoon full of contemplation. Thanks for sharing, Chelsea.” Thanks from us too!

Cosy moments at the fireplace

“At the beginning of December 2020, right before the second lockdown, Shawny, Marie & I spent a few days one hour up north from Berlin in Uckermark, a beautiful rural district.” tells us photographer Marcel Boer about his stunning new series starring Shawny Sander and Marie Bosbach from PMA Models.

“We were supposed to be there for a film & photo shooting job for the Magazine ‚SIGHT‘  and shoot some last scenes at this beautiful countryside house. We had a super pleasant evening… good food, wine, some music surrounded by this amazing stack, which was almost like an open fireplace… like a super cosy campfire. Marie & Shawny never met before but got along super well and we just decided to kinda document how they enjoyed their rest after this long production day.”

The perfect series to start the new year with you all! Thank you!

“Success to me is when you are good with yourself.” Get to know Annaïse Bercy

We had a chat with gorgeous Annaïse Bercy of Folio. Inspired by the opportunity to diversify the image of beauty in the industry the gorgeous model shines in this shooting photographed by Zach Phan with styling by Racky Sow, co-founder of Black Montreal Creatives. Makeup done by Karine Poirier.

Annaïse, tell us a bit about yourself and where you grew up…

I never really know what to say when asked ‘tell me about yourself’ unless it’s a job  interview/casting! You definitely just have to experience my person for yourself to know me, and I feel like everyone might have a little something different to say about me depending on what the relationship is and where the vibe stands at any given time, but at the core of it all I am just a pretty chill human. Oh and I grew up in Ottawa (laughs)

What inspired you to be in front of a camera?

I am always inspired by creativity of projects but most of all I continue to be motivated by the opportunity to diversify the image of beauty in the industry.

What would you say is your strongest skill?

I do believe I am pretty good listener, I find listening to be so important in all my relationships. I have grown to be a more mindful in how I make myself available as a lending ear, I learned to reserve it for spaces where the effort is sincere and reciprocated.

“Success to me is the ability to go through your own path and be “good” with everything it comes with.”

Have you been more depressed since the coronavirus outbreak lockdown or how does this ongoing situation affect you?

I would love to meet someone who hasn’t had a difficult or down moment since the coronavirus outbreak! Navigating the fear of getting sick and the unknown of what could happen has been the hardest part of it for me personally. I am a genuinely optimistic person and it has helped me cope through this year. I am fortunate enough to have been able to keep myself safe and haven’t been severely affected– I truly can’t complain.

What does success mean to you?

Success to me is when you are good with yourself, not in the sense of self-sufficiency but in the ability to go through your own path and be “good” with everything it comes with. And yes such success can be measured in achievement (whatever that may be for one) when you are good with yourself, but I see it more when circumstances are not as evidently prolific and you are still good with yourself to go forth, overcome the doubt and that has almost always lead to some kind of success in the end.

Your favorite book?

I only have a favorite colour, blue! I truly enjoy psychology books, fiction and biographies, the last book I read was ‘Power Question”s by Andrew Sobel and Jerold Panas.

Favorite music you are currently listening to?

Again, favorite… couldn’t say I love it all but I LOVE Beyonce the most! The last played song on my phone is ‘Cowboy like me’ by Taylor Swift.

2021 will be… MUCH BETTER!!!!!!

Leonora and I met on a sunny winter afternoon in Notting Hill to shoot at this stunning boutique hotel that reminds me so much of Paris with its tall bay windows leading to the balcony.” raves London based film photographer Anete Hiie about her second, sublime shooting with model Leonora. “I felt this instant connection with Leonora and her mysterious feminine je ne sais quoi.”

We dream of one day spending some weeks on the alp. In one of those small, romantic wooden houses. Wild nature outside and a cozy, warm inside. Far away from all.

No wonder we totally fell in love with Jean Amb‘s latest photo shooting with fair and beautiful model Paula Templado Ruiz. Very close to the Pyrenees mountains in France they found this little paradise place and created an amazing winter story.

Good things take time. Already for three years photographer Pablo Gil García and model Alessandra Sironi have been in touch via instagram. “We were talking about to shoot some day but she lives in the north coast of Spain and we only managed to meet for the first time last week. She came to Madrid for work so we finally took this opportunity to take some pictures in this beautiful studio we rented. We didn’t plan any of the photos and just went with the flow and now this is one of my favourite shoots of 2020.”

A warm welcome to photographer Alexander Suarta who debuts on C-Heads with a soft and intimate set starring the 24 year old model Alejandra Escorcia and her sweet cat.

“Dear love of this and other lives. Save me from today, from falling into everyday life, from these days that don’t end. Of gray skies and predictable endings. Let me accompany you, in each step, in each kiss. I don’t want to be me, I want to be yours, I want to be one.

I will never have enough days to meet you, to know who you are, to understand you. To discover the secret behind your eyes and the sweet on your lips. Seven lives are not enough to love you.”

“信頼” – A series about ’Trust’

Sometimes it is not an easy road to trust someone. Because first you need to trust yourself. This series of photos by Netherlands born, currently Tokyo based photographer Anouk Brouwer starring muse Kana Kitty shows how liberating it can be to surrender to someone and simply trust.

““信頼”, the Japanese word for trust, honors my relationship with Kana and all she taught me. Our paths crossed at an interesting point in both of our lives in 2020 and within months she was able to steal my heart and give it back in a different shape, changed forever. I have been struck by her fluency in the languages of courage, imagination, sensibility and trust. Trust in herself. Trust in her body. Trust in me.”

A connection with Vivienne

Already last year we have already introduced you to currently Vienna based artist Daniel Nuderscher. “The art in my projects is not about the result, it’ s about the process. The process of two humans getting to know each other and the documentation of this process. Establishing a connection between two humans for some hours.”

In this series he connected with singer, actress and dancer Vivienne whom he get met via instagram. “When I met her for the session, she was in the mood of experimenting with places she has never been to inside her flat. The wardrobe, a high window in the bathroom, lying under the coffee table and hiding behind some plants. At one point the photos got really soft and intimate. Vivienne took a shower and I took pictures of it, and I am wondering if I have ever made such intimate and personal photos before.”

Get to know Gloria Matin

You will get lost in the eyes of French beauty Gloria Matin. We wanted to get to know her a little bit better and talked about her love for Paris, having a routine to keep sane and animal rights. Photographed by Michaëlis Moshe.

Shot on 35mm

You are currently based in Paris. What do you love about that city?

I am not a fan of the postcard Paris, the one that you see in the movies. I much more enjoy the places that are still a bit mixed socially, where people can still occupy the streets the way they want to. I like all the north of Paris, for instance. It’s a bit of a mess but it still belongs to those who live in it. On my weekends I  love a good walk near Belleville and wandering around the streets, at random. There’s always a surprise at the corner of the street. It’s a good place to make new friends too, you sit on the grass and you talk to the people nearby, you enjoy the sun…

How do you stay sane during a lockdown?

Good question! I’d say wake up at the same time every morning no matter what, take a shower and dress like you’re going to have a normal day. It’s so important to fool your brain and body into believing that life is going on. Also, don’t always cease to immediate satisfaction, think of your well-being on the long-run. Just because I can lay around all day and stay on the couch without interruption, doesn’t mean it’s a good thing for me on the long-run. But on the other hand, if that’s what makes you feel good, do it, and don’t punish yourself! The only question to ask yourself every morning is: what would be really good for me today? Only you know what it is. Even if it’s not what other people think would be good for you.

“I am not a fan of the postcard Paris. I much more enjoy the places that are still a bit mixed socially, where people can still occupy the streets the way they want to.”

Who is currently one of your most important people in life?

I am having a nice love story at the moment. It inhabits my mind and gives me much joy.

Do you smile at strangers?

I try! But I feel stupid when they don’t give it back, though. So I pretend I wasn’t smiling.

What kind of compliments do you prefer from others and why?

I like when my strength or independence are acknowledged.

If you had one wish what would it be and why?

Well I am a firm animal rights believer, so I would love the whole world to go vegan, because it kills me thinking that everyday so many new animals are being put in pain. Go vegan dear friends, it is actually quite easy and it makes you happy! And you can still eat junk food (laughs)

We all need some good input these days, what is your happy song?

What made me happy in this stupid year of 2020 was to listen to all the old stuff that I used to dance on back when I was 13. I can’t tell which bands because there are so many and I am not proud of all of them hehe, but it’s so good to think of the good old times sometimes. Otherwise, I love a good French rap to wake me up in the morning, which is unfortunate for my neighbors.

A bucolic escape

We all have that one person with whom we can feel time stands still and just enjoy the simple true moments, without worrying about deadlines or appointments. To some, this person is a life partner, a husband, a wife… to others, it’s their best friend.

The two models Carol Antunes and Gabrielle Arcanjo are longtime friends who have been apart due to their model careers, living busy lives in different countries, rarely finding the time to catch up. The pandemic brought these two back to their home country Brazil. And on a sunny weekend, instead of going to some crowded beach in Rio, the two friends drove away from the city to a countryside villa, where they finally had the opportunity to catch up, to have fun just like as the teenagers they were when their friendship started.

Without looking at a watch, with no internet connection, they were able to enjoy the countryside laid back lifestyle. The photos were taken in various moments of true fun and relaxation.

Wonderfully captured by talented photographer Renato Pagliacci, we luckily can participate in those wonderful moments. Art direction, hair and makeup by Sabrina Sanm with make-up assistance by Diego Rodrigues.

The feeling of unbelonging

Sometimes we know that feeling of unbelonging. Lost between all the people, the many stories, an empty feeling inside of a lost connection to your surrounding. The new series by Maja Sos explores this feeling of emotional void.

“First of all, I am not a visual person. I do not find myself as a photographer capturing the moment. I am rather interested in creating situations, putting my characters in a wider context. My aim is to direct a scene and capture a still of it.

Fun fact is that I started to work as a still photographer at movie sets.

I did not realise what I want to do in my photography until I read about tableau. I felt like some photos waited for me to be seen.

Cinema is my big inspiration. In this series I tried to create the emotional void and feeling of unbelonging. This world is full of situations that are incomprehensible for the audience. But also these situations are not shown, only the defense mechanism that remains.

I have been stuck in my apartment for a few months now. In the beginning I did not go to work or university, I just spent time observing it and creating different plots that could happen there. This one is gloomy but beautiful as well.”

A day in the Brazilian paradise

We wouldn´t mind being stranded in this beautiful place, would you?

Victória Basseto, a cinematography student, part time model, and the founder and creative director of Mar de Sal Beach Wear decided to spent New Years in Jericoacoara, an amazing city that is known as the paradise of Brazil. “I was there for 10 days and decided to take advantage of the mind blowing landscapes to do a shooting for my brand. Since there was no planning, I had to do a street casting – actually a beach casting – to find the models. Fabiola Firmino and Ana Carolina Sarmento were carefully casted on the main beach of Jeri, and during a kitesurf class I luckily ran into Paloma Stott. The photographer Samuel Rodriguez is a local of Guriu, a fishermen community that I chose as the location for this photo shooting. With a very small budget, we were able to create something fun. I hope you guys like it.”
